Bakery now taking orders

The brick oven will be fired this weekend. Stay tuned in here next week for an update. We think it’s ready to roll and we are excited! We don’t want to disappoint you!!!

Black Sheep Bakery is now taking orders for loaf breads (white, 9 grain, and honey oat) and hot rolls. We will be baking on Mondays and orders can be picked up on Tuesday mornings at the Center by noon. If that time doesn’t work for you we will arrange for you to pick up. We can receive orders through Sunday at 4 p.m. to allow us to get our bakers and ingredients lined up. Message us on Hemphill Community Center’s Facebook or call (606) 671-7023 or (606) 821-2401

May 25 at 7:30 p.m.: The Right Fork Ramblers will join us for some of the best bluegrass music to be had in our area. You don’t want to miss it and we will have pizza from the brick oven. Food. Music. Community. What more could we ask? We will have a better night if you show up!

June 21 at 7 p.m.: Summer Solstice Community Baking on the longest day of the year. Come bring your bread dough and try your hand at baking your bread in the community brick oven. Just whatever bread you bake at home can be baked in the pans you bake in at home. Nothing fancy is required to bake in the brick oven. We will be there to assist you and answer questions. Breaking of bread together will follow.

Friday Nite Pickin’: Children get in free when accompanied by an adult. Open mic at intermission. Family friendly environment.
