Barbara Sue Potter, 71, died April 3 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born in Whitesburg, she was a daughter of the late John and Hattie Hall Dishman and the widow of Sam D. Potter.
Mrs. Potter loved singing and going to church.
Surviving are two sons, Glendal Johnson and wife Sheila of Jasper, Ala., and Derrick Potter of Jackhorn; three daughters, Tina Switzer and husband Faubus of Bardstown, Virtie Kirby and husband Danny of Richmond, and Samantha Burke and husband Jonathan of Jackhorn; two sisters, Patricia Bates of Jenkins, and Judy Fields of Cowan; 11 grandchildren, Brittany, Josh, Glen, Eli, Lucas, Emma, Fannah, Logan, Haley, Braxton and LaShauna; and three greatgrandchildren, A’Miracle, Josiah and Malachiah.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; five sisters, Linda Sturgill, Virginia Bates, Nannie Dishman, Martha Dishman and Wilma Taylor; and three brothers, Johnny Dishman, Lawson Dishman and Jackie Dishman.
Funeral services were held April 7 at the Dunham Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in the Dishman family cemetery at Hemphill.
