To the Editor:
Good morning, Letcher County, Kentucky.
I am Floyd Meade Jr., a resident of Letcher County (Whitaker, Seco, Tollivertown, Kona, Neon) from Sept. 6, 1935.
I joined the Army on July 29, 1953. I was in Korea on Sept. 6, 1955 when my dad, Floyd Meade, died by a train accident at Whitaker. I finished my three years in the Army and joined the Air Force for 17 years, completing 20 plus years service.
I retired March 1, 1974 as TSgt. I lived in Winchester about three years, then in Salina, Kansas for nine years, six years in Panama City, Fla., then to where I live now. I have been here in Orange, Tex., for 17 years and love the weather and people.
I have been getting The
for about three months and it brings back some memories of 55 to 60 years ago. I have read that all of the Boyd and Alma Meade clan are gone, so I guess that leaves me the last of the Floyd Sr. and Callie Meade clan left.
If anyone remembers my family and wants to write or call, I will be glad to hear from you and will answer back. Love you all.
