Beady Philips dies in Delaware

Funeral services for Beady A. Phillips, 92, of Bear, Del., were held July 9. Burial was in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

He died July 4 at Christinia Care Hospital in Newark, Del.

Born in Bell County to the late Grant and Verla Durbin Phillips, he was the widower of Mildred Bayes Phillips.

He was a brother of the late Edward Lee Phillips, Eugene Phillips, William Phillips, Willis Phillips, Norman Phillips, Martha Blevins, June Cureton and Frankie May Bowman.

A U.S. Army veteran, where he served in the European Theater in Algeria- French Morocco, Tunisia, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland during World War II, earning six Bronze Stars, the American Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Ribbon.

He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania.

Surviving are a son, Wm. Darrel Phillips of Glen Burnie, Md.; three daughters, Sheila Cypriotis of Bear, Del., Sharon Faye Bevilacqua of Milton, Del., and Cheryl Kay Blando of Coatsville, Penn.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Phillips of Ohio, and Carl Phillips of Georgia; and two sisters, Louise Tindle of Alabama and Atha Wright of Georgia.
