Hello everyone. I hope all had a good week. Beautiful weather for the Mountain Heritage Festival. My husband and I walked around Saturday afternoon.
Greensburg, Ind. had its Fall Festival parade Saturday, also. They got drenched. My granddaughter Michaela is on the cheerleading squad and they rode on a float. Sorry they got wet.
Happy birthday to Tommy Fields, who will be 67 Sept. 26. He is the son of the late Jess Fields and the late Ina and Hiram Banks of Cowan.
Ashley Fields will be 19 on Sept. 30. My late fatherin law, Roy ‘Shorty’ Fields, would have been 93 on Oct. 1. James and I still miss him. He was from Edmonton.
Bobby ‘Bear’ Davis will be 54 on Oct. 4. He is the son of the late Jane Miles Dobson and Jr. Dobson. Happy birthday to all of them.
Dorothy Jean Miles is home from the hospital, but keep her in your prayers. Anna Lou Maggard Combs is home from the hospital and still not doing very well. Keep her in your prayers.
Sylvania Whitaker went back to Lexington for another kidney transplant, but they found that the kidney didn’t match.
Wayne and Tammy Turner’s son-in-law, Jeremy Nicely’s dad, had surgery, and is doing some better. It’s just a long road to recovery. Keep him in your prayers.
Archie and Margaret Fields’s great-granddaughter, Kylee Faith Gibson, was in the baby show and won some awards and trophies. They are very proud of her as well as the rest of the family. Her picture was in last week’s paper. She is a doll and looks just like her mom at that age. Big Cowan
Bill and Agnes Maggard of Columbus, Ind., are very proud of their grandson, Dalton Jones, a son of Emily Maggard Jones and Paul Jones. He finished or will soon finish, basic training for the Army.
Bill and Agnes’s daughter, Ella, has been back in the hospital. Continue to pray for her. She had surgery and was doing well, and then had some complications.
My daughter- in- law, Amber Fields, has a fracture in her lower spine. She is off of work until Oct. 24. They are doing therapy on her, and she is in a lot of pain. Keep her in your prayers.
Keep Bill and Agnes Maggard, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, Loreva Fields, Irene and Eugene Day, Hazel Rayburn, Mary Ann Maggard, Brack Sexton, Della and Morris Maggard, Guy and Lorrain Stewart, and Willie Perry in your prayers, and everyone else on Cowan.
I heard that Loreva Fields had been in the hospital. I hope she is feeling better. Her blood pressure was low and she had to have two pints of blood.
I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall weather we are having. This is one of my favorite seasons, with all the leaves turning. It is just beautiful, and a good time to go riding through the country and looking at all the trees and fall flowers.
If I go to Indiana in October, I hope to get to drive through Brown County. It is beautiful this time of year, and then go into Little Nashville and look around. It’s been awhile. They have neat little shops and Christmas all year round.
Well, everyone have a good week and attend the church of your choice. Be good to one another.
