Happy New Year to all. I brought the old year in at the Hemphill Community Center with the Benny Jones Band and a host of friends. We had a great time. When the band comes back you should come listen to them. They are such a great band.
I had company over the weekend. My nephew-inlaw Donnie Vinson from Shepherdsville came and spent time with us. I always enjoy having family visiting with me.

I saw Judy Hampton at Walmart and she tells me that she and her husband Paul have a first great-grandson. His name is Gavin Robert Nahrowld and he was born on January 1. He weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20¾ inches long. His parents are Rob and Ashley and they are living in Lexington. Congratulations to all of you. Enjoy your new gift from God.
I stopped in at the used clothing store in Neon. It is called God’s Country Closet. they are having a half-price sale for the month of January. If you get time, stop by and check it out. There are some great items in there to choose from..
The regular monthly meeting for the Community Center for the month of December was cancelled for the first time in 10 years because of bad weather, but we will be having a meeting the second Monday of January, which will be on the 10th, at 6:30 pm. Please feel welcome to attend this meeting. We need new people with new ideas.

I hope everyone has a great year in 2011. I hope to have another article for you again next week. This one would have been longer but I had it all typed out and hit a button to send it to the newspaper and deleted the whole article. Goes to show that I am not very smart when it comes to computers. If I left anything out that I promised to put in when I talked with you, just let me know and I will put it in next week’s article.
Hope everyone has a great year in 2011. Hopefully I will have another article for you next week.
