Bernard Rayburn celebrated his 13th birthday on March 31

Hello everyone and I do apologize for such a long wait between columns.

Spring is in the air! However, it has also brought a lot of rain. I’ve been quite busy between kids and working my business and spring break. The kids go back to school on April 7.

It has been quite nice this week despite the drizzle and the thunderstorms. The sunshine has popped out in between the clouds and the parks are beginning to open back up.

The People’s Church is having a fish fry every Friday night.

The Kroger expansion is getting near completion. There are plans for a sushi bar and several more aisles. The deli, which was at the back of the store, is now near middle so it is much bigger than before. The gas station is up and running, which is great because now when we earn our Kroger gasoline with our shopping, we don’t have to drive to Louisville to get the benefits.

The Whiskey City Cruisers classic car club will begin its car shows in April and then be doing those once a month.

Tracy Cissell also wanted me to mention that she just got promoted to manager at the LJS/ A&W restaurant. She’s very proud of all her hard work.

Prayer request this week is Tracy Walker, pastor of the Abundant Life church. He suffered a stroke last month that left him unable to continue his ownership of Mr. T’s bargain outlet. He and his wife Donna have become very close friends to me. They are both really awesome people and could use your prayers right now.

Also, prayers for Hannah Rummage. She is 3 and her mom is very worried about her appointment with a cardiologist.

Bernard Rayburn celebrated his 13th birthday on March 31. Guys, it just doesn’t seem like it could’ve been that long, then again it just seems like that is how life has always been. He had birthday cake with his family. He was very happy to be out of school at the same time.

Bernard also received a certificate for Student of the Month in February at Bardstown Middle School.

After Mary Kay’s Career Conference in Louisville this weekend I am going to be very, very busy with work. However, I will make sure that now that I’ve got the computer working correctly again, to get my news in in a more timely manner.

I do apologize again for the lack of news. With the seasonal tourism picking up, there will be a ton of events going on here in Bardstown.

May you be abundantly blessed and here is something I read recently that has brought me great comfort I’d like to share with you. “The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot protect you.”
