Bertha Stewart, 91, of Jenkins dies



Bertha Stewart, 91, of Jenkins, died September 3 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

Born at Beefhide to the late William and Delia Mullins Stewart, she was a lifelong resident of Letcher County.

She was a sister of the late Kernie Stewart, and a member of the Great I Am Church.

Surviving are a son, Buster Stewart and wife Jo Ann, of Jenkins; a sister, Minerva Blevins of Andersonville, Tenn.; three brothers, Jack Stewart, Bennie Stewart and wife Fannie, and Vernie Stewart and wife Betty, all of Jenkins; three granddaughters, Penelope Lea Stewart Rose, Jennifer Lynn Stewart Rose, and LaDonna Michelle Stewart; seven great-grandchildren, Tylar Bruce Mullins, Chasity Paige Rose, William Logan Rose, Nathan Blake Mullins, Brittany Dawn Rose, McKenzie LaShae Rose, and Evan Brent Stewart.

Funeral services were held September 6 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in Mullins Cemetery.
