Billie J. Bates, 65, succumbs



Funeral services for Billie J. Bates, 65, of Bottom Fork, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday), August 2 at the Bill Moore Branch Holiness Church. Burial will be in the Bill Moore Branch Holiness Cemetery.

A daughter of the late William and Mary Robins Craft, she died July 30 at the Greg and Noveen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.

She was a member of the Bill Moore Branch Holiness Church.

Surviving are her husband, Wendell M. Bates; three sons, Wendell Bates Jr. of Bottom Fork, Jason Bates of Whitesburg, and Jesse Bates of Mayking; three daughters, Jennifer Bryant and Wendy Stines, both of Bill Moore Branch, and Robin Bates of Neon; three brothers, James R. Polly and Johnny D. Craft, both of Bill Moore Branch, and James Green of Craft Branch; three sisters, Alene Ballou of Bottom Fork, Brenda Wright of Payne Gap, and Ethel Green of Kentucky; and eight grandchildren, Caitlin, Jonathan, Jacob, Hope, Lee, Justin, Jesse, and Braylan.

Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg has charge of arrangements.
