Former Whitesburg resident Billy Dean Gibson, 68, died June 26 at his home in Indianapolis, Ind.
Born in Neon, he was a son of the late Ralph and Mary Maxine Hensley Gibson. He was also preceded in death by Steve and Rena Sexton and a brother, Shelby Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was a truck driver for 40 years and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He loved cars, old Westerns, traveling and sightseeing.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Gibson; his children, Tammy Fields and Sherry Keel; his stepchildren, Shellie Hall and Scott Hess; two sisters, Brenda Morgan and Kathy Spangler; his grandchildren, Amber Hall, Timmy Hall, Lonnie Hall, Evan Fields, Page Adams, Holly Hensley, Joseph Keel, Kimberly Thomas, Jessica Keel, Brittany Hess, Christian Hess, Chelsea Hess, James Hess, Katelyn Hess, Crystal Hatton, Casey Slone and Isaac Fields; great-grandchildren, Luke, Lyla, Zay, Zayden, Brackstyon, Morgan, Elijah, Cooper, Camden, Caden McKenzie, Ari, Holden, Cayden, Ally Cameron, Kelsie, John, Joshua, Jax and Geneva.
Funeral services were held June 29 in Indianapolis. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery with military honors.
