Billy Joe Johnson, 86, died January 22 at his home.
A son of the late William Malvary and Goldie June Wright Johnson, he was a brother of the late Chester Johnson and Mickey Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was a pilot and enjoyed flying his own plane, fishing, guns, and riding motorcycles.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Naomi Eloise Kiser Johnson; a daughter, Rhonda Jo Johnson of home; a son, Tim Johnson and wife Susan of Pound, Va.; two grandchildren, Chris Johnson and wife Sandy, and Tara Kerns and husband Tommy, all of Pound, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Levi Johnson, Lori Johnson and Ashley Kerns; two great-great-grandchildren, Zayden Johnson and Trenton Johnson; two brothers, Phillip Johnson and wife Glenda, and William M. Johnson and wife Jodi; seven sisters, Peggy Braden and husband Nick, Shirley Owens and husband O’Dell, Colleen Clay and husband Jim, Gloria Johns and husband Barry, Lavonne Tackett and husband Rodney, Linda Anderson and husband Gary, and Glenda Easterling and husband Richard; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were held January 25 in Virginia. Burial was in the Bolling Cemetery in Flat Gap, Pound, Va.
