Birthday dinner delayed by hospital stay

Big Cowan

Well folks, last week was a crazy, busy, and interesting week. My husband was in the hospital all week, finally got home Friday evening. And my brotherin law Eddie Wolfe got out Friday afternoon. Thanks for all your prayers, visits, and phone calls. My sister Kathy and I appreciate it very much.

Really hated to hear about our neighbor Alma (Banks) Fields dying. Our sympathy goes to all of her family. She was the daughter of the late Jona (Dollarhide) Banks and the late Howard Banks and she was married to Jody Fields, the son of the late Jim and Jeanette Fields. She is survived by husband Jody; a daughter, Mindy; and a son, Tim; several sisters and a brother, and a host of other relatives. Not sure how many grandchildren.

Well, my birthday came and went with my meals being at the hospital. My husband didn’t get dismissed till 7 p.m. He took me to the Golden Corral on Saturday at London to eat. We went to pick up Mike. He was glad to get home.

Several guys have been deer hunting and so far they have been successful. The other day I came up Little Cowan and a red “boxer” dog was prancing up the road with what looked like a stick. He stopped and looked at me and I noticed it was deer antlers, the he pranced on up the road. Guess he had been deer hunting too. I thought that was so cute.

My cousins Audrey and Charles Hammonds in North Vernon, Ind., have been very sick with colds and breathing problems. Wish them well and pray for them. Also, my cousins Bill and Agnes Maggard of Columbus, Ind., need our prayers as well. They have both been having health problems.

Irene Day went to the doctor the other day and everything was OK except her being so weak. She started coughing and Eugene had the chills. Hope they are not getting the flu. Keep them in your prayers.

So many people are sick. We just need to pray for everyone.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Shelby Bockover called to check on us. She said she would really be lonesome this holiday without Bobby.
