A biologist with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife says black bears are spreading across much of Kentucky.
Brian Clark told The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown that bears have been spotted throughout central Kentucky and there’s potential for them to occupy areas of Bernheim Forest and Fort Knox.
The bears had kept mostly to areas east of Interstate 75 and south of the Mountain Parkway until recently. He says bear sightings have been reported as far north as Boone and Campbell counties.
Bear sightings can be reported to Kentucky’s Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources at (502) 564-3402.
