Blair Branch has lost many neighbors

Jeremiah

Since I wrote last week, Minnie Blair of Blair Branch, died at Whitesburg ARH. She had been in bad health and was a patient at Letcher Manor. Her brother Lovell and sister Ila have our sympathy, as do her many nephews, nieces and other kinfolk.

Recently Bob and I stopped in to visit Evangene and Arizona Adams since they haven’t been out and about very much lately. Arizona has had trouble with her shoulder, bursitis and tendonitis, and it’s doing some better after the doctor gave her a shot in it. They were both able to come out to Blair Branch Church for Minnie’s funeral service.

There was a large crowd of family, friends and neighbors who came out to support the Blair family.

On Saturday, Bob, Hunter Banks and I went to Morehead to visit Bob’s uncle and aunt, Luther and Betty Jo Adams. Their son Mike, his wife Patsy, and their daughter Shelby were also there. We visited for about two hours before heading back, and enjoyed talking about old times and catching up on new happenings with them.

Shelby will be going to college this fall on a volleyball scholarship, and her brother Zack and his wife will have built a house between Luther and Betty Jo’s and Mike and Patsy. It’s a nice area with the woods behind their homes.

Blair Branch lost another long-ime resident. Truman Caudill died last week. He hadn’t been well lately, but Margie took good care of him. She and the boys have our condolences during their sorrow. I always appreciated Truman for sitting up at night with us when we had funerals at Blair Branch Church. He could keep you entertained.

He recently joined the Hot Spot Community Church, and his services were held there. Our sympathy to the entire family.

The Blair Branch community has lost so many neighbors lately, it makes a person kind of sad.

It was church time this weekend at Dixon Memorial Church, and after services Allen and Sylvania’s granddaughter Deidra and her husband Sammy joined and were baptized at Blair Branch. Many family and friends attended the happy event.

Also at Cedar Grove Church, there were two who joined, Greg Amburgey and Dou Bailey. Both were baptized after church.

Congratulations to Matthew and Reanna Caudill on the birth of another little boy. The grandparents are Alana and Teresa Bates and Margie Caudill.

Also, Francine Caudill has a new granddaughter, Roxie, born last week to Amanda Hall and her husband. They also have another daughter, Charlie.

Francine’s granddaughter, Cierra, recently had a birthday party for her seventh birthday. She is Adam and Theresa Bentley’s daughter.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Imogene Griffie Caudill, who was such a sweet lady and was loved by all who knew her. And to the family of former Doty Creek resident, Jonathon Caudill. It’s so sad to lose such a young life. Our hearts go out to his family.
