Bluegrass concert planned at Eolia Park for Sept. 15

Eola

Greetings from the hills and valleys of Eolia and Eolia Christian Community Outreach.

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2

Stepping outside, I was met with a brisk breeze causing the fallen leaves to began their autumn dance. Working outside is more pleasant now that it’s cooled down a bit.

The Eolia Baptist Mission will sponsor a children’s program beginning Wednesday called the Good News Club overseen by Stephanie. It will last from 7 to 8 p.m. Children age three to the sixth grade are welcome to attend. Among the activities will be stories, singing and lots of fun stuff. Anyone needing a ride can call Pastor Lloyd at 633-5015.

We had our community park meeting and plans were finalized for our bluegrass concert Saturday, Sept. 15, from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission will be $5 (children under 12 free). Featured groups will be East KY Tyme, God’s Grace and Backwoods Revival. Concessions will be available, so come join us and bring a lawn chair.

Ted Corder got a really big surprise when he opened his mailbox and received the following certificate. “Ted Corder is recognized by the Kentucky House of Representatives and given Legislative recognition for the remarkable affection he has demonstrated for the dogs in his community. Ted Corder is deemed an outstanding citizen for the commonwealth for his ongoing dedication to the stray animals in his community. This motion was made by Representative Keith Hall.” Our congratulations to Ted Corder for he well deserves it.

Thought for the day: “It’s not the outlook but the uplook that counts.”
