The second annual Miner’s Memorial Bluegrass Festival will be held Monday, Sept. 3, at the Hemphill Community Center at Jackhorn. The festival will begin at 1 p.m. with an open mic session.
Performers include Wolf Creek Grass at 2 p.m., Dawson Creek Grass at 3:30 p.m. and Bluegrass Circle at 5 p.m. There will be a candlelight ceremony for fallen coal miners featuring Corbin Maggard singing “Go Rest High on That Mountain” at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is free. Those attending should bring chairs.
