Panel to consider removing school board chairman
The Kentucky Board of Education plans to hold a hearing to consider removing the chairman of the Bath County Board of Education.
A statement from the Kentucky Department of Education says the hearing over whether William Boyd should continue in his position is scheduled to begin today (Wednesday) in Frankfort.
It comes two months after Kentucky Education Commissioner Terry Holliday sent a letter to Boyd asking him to step down or face possible removal. Holliday said at the time that Boyd had shown a pattern of behavior that “constitutes misconduct and willful neglect of duty.”
Boyd has refused to step down saying that although he has been embroiled in controversy, he has tried to improve education in the district. (AP)
