Bobby Stamper dies at 64

Bobby Preston Stamper, 64, of Thornton, died October 4 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

Born in Fleming-Neon, he was a son of Betty Cantrell York of Arjay and the late Tinsley Stamper. He was a brother of the late Teresa Pike, Sherri Pennington, Allen Stamper, Clifford Stamper, Erwin Stamper and Robert Stamper.

Mr. Stamper was a minister for 35 years at Victory Temple Church in Neon. He enjoyed fishing and watching his grandsons play football.

Surviving in addition to his mother and her husband Ernie York are his wife, Sherry

Stamper; a son, Shannon Branham and wife Georgena of McRoberts; three daughters, Lora Cummings and husband Donald of Cowan, Bobbie Stamper of Thornton, and Lindsey Combs and husband Brent of Bottom Fork; three sisters, Alfreda Potter of North Carolina, Deborah Metcalf of Millstone, and Melissa Stamper of Bill Moore Branch; 11 grandchildren, Kalin, Dominick, Trevor, Hayden, Keaston, Isabella, Conner, Preston, Katie, Jace and Paislee; and three special girls, Hannah, Mandy and Chelsea.

Funeral services were held October 8 in Whitesburg. Burial was at Green Acres Cemetery in Ermine.
