A book signing was held at Fleming-Neon Public Library on August 3 for “Ree’s Gate”, juvenile fiction written by Missy Torrey, of Seco. The publisher is Xlibris.
Torrey attended Midway College was graduated from the University of Kentucky with bachelor’s degree in allied health and a master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
She is the daughter of Roy Benge and Deborah Benge, and has three children, ages 14, 9 and 7.
Torrey said, “My inspiration came from the combination of my curiosity in what lies just beyond the veil of death and my firm belief in our divine Creator and the consequence of sin. I began writing just as a hobby. However, as the characters and ideas for this story grew, so did my obsession for writing. I now know this is what I was meant to do all along.”
