The Jenkins Cavaliers fell to 0-5 on the season after losses to Central High School of Norton, Virginia (68-42) on December 7 and Owsley County (51-47) on December 8.

The Cavs were scheduled to return to action Wednesday night at Shelby Valley (1-3), then return to the road three days later for a Saturday afternoon tilt at Menifee County (0-5) at 2:30.

In their game against Central, the Cavaliers were led by 16 points from Austin Johnson, nine points by Dylan Tackett, and four points from Landon Rose. Six Jenkins players — Matt Morris, Noah Anderson, Adyn Hayes, Dylan Wolford, Isaiah Adams, and Dakota Johnson — scored two points and Nick Watts had one point.

At Owsley County, Jenkins was led by 13 points each from Dylan Tackett and Isaiah Adams and 10 points from Austin Johnson. Kolby Stewart scored six points, Dylan Wolford scored three points, and Noah Anderson contributed two points. s

The Letcher County Central Cougars entered this week with a 2-2 record on the season after a December 7 win over Prestonsburg (60-41) and a December 9 loss to Cordia (76-72). Game statistics were not available.

The Cougars return to action Thursday night with a 7:30 game at Magoffin County followed by a game at Thomas Nelson High School in Bardstown at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
