Brandon Adams home after wreck

Brandon Adams of Carcassonne was in a bad wreck Friday on his way to work. He hit a coal truck and then another car. He was flown out to Holston Valley Hospital in Tennessee.

His leg was twisted and had to be fixed, and he had a concussion. By Saturday he was doing better so he was able to come home. I called and checked on him Saturday evening, and he can hardly move. He is married to my niece Shanna.

Brandon’s cousin, Dusty Blair, was in a wreck a few weeks ago, and he was cut up and bruised but is thankfully doing okay.

Happy birthday to Adam Roark of Carcassonne, who celebrated on May 14.

The Carcassonne New Covenant Ministries has a new time for its Sunday services. The services will be beginning at 10 a.m.

Sean Daniel Hall has been in the hospital twice now with stomach problems, and they are not sure what it is. As of Saturday, he was still in Hazard Hospital. His parents are Sean Hall of Knott County, and Jerri of Harlan. Sean Daniel’s birthday is May 31. He will be 10 years old, and hopefully he will be doing better by then.

My sympathy to the family of Marty Dixon of Isom, who died in a car wreck on Linefork.

Happy birthday to my sister, Debbie Fugate of Carcassonne. It is on May 19, and my mom Jean Blair’s is on May 28. Cameron Hayes of Elk Creek had to have tubes put in his ears last week. He was having some problems hearing. He is the son of Jeremy and Nadean Hayes.

Happy birthday to Vanessa Smith of Elk Creek. It is on May 15.

Happy 31st anniversary to Mike and Diane Haynes of Crases Branch. It was on May 12.

Happy birthday to Blake Fugate of Blackey. He turned 10 on May 15. He is the son of Allen and Sue Fugate. He had a party on Friday evening at the skating rink in Hazard.

There was a birthday party held May 15 for Emma Bates of Blackey at the senior citizens building. She turned 7. She is the daughter of Dion and Danny Bates.

My neighbor Jon Henrikson has a birthday coming up on May 27, so happy birthday to him.

William “Coots” Halcomb was in a coal truck wreck and is in Holston Valley Hospital. He broke his knee and his nose, and his hip is dislocated. They were going to do surgery because they couldn’t get the hip to stay in place. I hope he gets better soon.

Stella Dixon of Blackey had to be admitted to Hazard ARH on Saturday. She had a mild heart attack. I sure hope she gets better soon and comes home.

Congratulations to Debra and Fred Holbrook on the birth of their baby boy. Forrest Holbrook was born on May 13. He weighed 8 pounds and was 19.8 inches long. They have another son, Gabe, and a girl, Lauren. The grandparents are Deeb and Alice Adams of Crases Branch, Fred Holbrook of Mayking, and Linda Stanley of Kimper.
