Sandra L. Breeding, DNP, APRN, of Winchester, a daughter of the late Wilburn and Jessie Hampton of Jeremiah and the wife of Timothy J. Breeding, formerly of Red Fox, was graduated from Northern Kentucky University Dec. 17 with a Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP). She earned a 4.0 grade point average.
NKU Nursing faculty selected Dr. Breeding as the recipient of the DNP Practice Excellence Award. This prestigious award is based on four criteria that includes 1. Clinical competency and initiative of high degree; 2. Demonstration of accountability and responsibility for role transition as DNP prepared professional; 3. Initiative of a change in practice of nursing; 4. Excellent rapport with patients, staff, colleagues, organizations and local/state/regional entities.
Dr. Breeding is employed at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Dept. as the clinical team leader for the Public Health Clinic, Communicable Disease Division.
The Breedings have one daughter, Lindsey, of Nashville, Tenn.
