Congratulations to Lance and Edit Breeding, who have a new greatgrandson, Lincoln. He was born this past week in West Virginia, and looks so cute in the photos on Facebook. The whole family looked so happy with the little fellow.
We had a well-blessed Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Blair Branch Church. The singing and refreshments on Friday evening were enjoyed by many, and the fellowship with those who came is always a pleasure.
On Sunday, the Isom Presbyterian Church singers were at the nursing home and sang Christmas carols at Mable Jo Buttrey’s, Lillie Moss Hale’s and others’ rooms. It was a pretty sound, hearing the singing down the halls.
Cleve Collins, it’s always a joy to see you. Don’t let Bob give you a hard time!
It was sad news to learn that Jack Wayne Sexton had died on Saturday. A large crowd at his visitation was a tribute to how well known and loved he was, not only in the Isom area, but throughout the surrounding communities.
It will be New Year before we know it. Time goes by so quickly.
The group of volunteers who came up Highway 7 giving out presents to children in the county is greatly appreciated. I think it’s called the Santa Truck Train, and the kids in our area were so happy to see Santa and get gifts.
Arnetta Mae Slone and Liberty Campbell both had birthdays on Dec. 19, and we sang “Happy Birthday” to them at Blair Branch Church. Mae’s family all got together to help her celebrate her birthday.
Lyndci and Sadie Gilliam came up from Morehead and spent the weekend on Blair Branch with Jerry and Bonita Adams. Noah and Liberty Campbell and Lyndci, and Sadie came out to the singing at Blair Branch.
Ford Pridemore drove up from Lexington to attend and to visit with his family, too.
Lots of folks in the area have been taking the flu, and some have ended up in the hospital or staying home to recuperate.
Hope everyone has a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
To those who will be celebrating the holidays for the first time without a loved one who has died in the last year, may God give you strength to make it through.
And, let’s continue to pray for Jason Campbell and Ashley Halcomb.
Kenneth and Anna Lou Blair have been in to visit their families and attended the Blair Branch Church singing.
