Brenda Kay Fields succumbs at 58



Brenda Kay Fields, 58, of Deane, died May 30 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Born in Letcher County to the late Cliffton and Elsie Stewart Meade, she was the grandmother of the late B.J. Bates, a sister of the late James Meade, and the mother-in-law of the late George McCall.

She was a member of the Neon Church of Christ.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Fields; two daughters, Donna Kay Bates and husband BoBo, Thornton, and Tammy Lyn McCall, Mayking; five brothers, Evert Meade, Coy Meade, Gary Meade, Claude Meade and Denver Meade, all of Deane; three sisters, Mary Sexton and Billie Jean Short, both of Hemphill, and Janet Baker of Haymond; five grandchildren, Brittney, Amber, Megan, Brian and Stephanie, and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Amber and Ashley.

Funeral services were held June 3 at the Neon Church of Christ. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.

Everidge Funeral Home of Whitesburg had charge of arrangements.
