Black Sheep Bakery and good drug free (chemical preservative free) bread is coming . . .

We are getting ready. On April 14 and 15 we will be training with Tara Jenson, who is a brick oven and sourdough expert. We will be traveling to Tara’s Smoke Signals Bakery in Marshall, N.C. with a crew of seven Black Sheep. This trip is being sponsored in part by MACED. We are excited to go and hope to learn many useful things from Tara. Tara has just released a new book called “A Baker’s Year.”

The mortar is curing on our brand new oven so we will be firing it up very soon. Looking forward to production of delicious bread-based foods.

The Breakfast with the Easter Bunny was a lovely time for all. The kids had a great time at the Easter egg hunt.

Special thanks to Willa and Celeste Johnson for spearheading an effort to feed the children who might not otherwise be fed while the teachers fight for what is right in Frankfort. We were happy to help in this labor of love.

First Baptist Church of Whitesburg was the other feeding site in the county. Thanks to all who helped out with donations of time, talent, and treasure. We must take care of the children.

We stand with the teachers! We support education and teacher rights.

The warm balmy days of summer are on their way . . .
