With just a little more tweaking the oven is almost in working order. Thanks to that daredevil, Jesse Cook, and our good neighbor, Lawton King, four of the trees behind our building are now gone. Thank you both so much!
The trees were hindering the oven from breathing properly. Thanks to our own Black Sheep crew for the tree cleanup on Mr. King’s property and the cutting and hauling of wood from the mountain to fire the oven.
It is an ancient healing process. From the cutting and gathering of the wood, to the laying of the fire, to the mixing and shaping of the bread, this is a timehonored tradition. For thousands of years our ancestors have cooked this way.
Sometime in the next few weeks you will have a chance to come and bake bread in the brick oven. Start thinking of the bread you want to make and as soon as we work on the oven a little more we will invite you to come bake your bread in the community oven. Get ready!
Weekly Quote: Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Marianne Williamson
