Cammie Gilley recently enjoyed going with her cousins to visit an aunt in Mississippi. While there, she talked on the phone with Kathy and Sara LaMonte but didn’t get a chance to see them.

Randy and Eula Brown and Jerry and Phyllis Ingram had a week’s vacation in Daytona, Fla. Their deepsea fishing trip was canceled due to rough waters, but they caught a lot of fish and had a good time.

Linda Lucas of Cowan recently returned from an extended stay in Advance, N.C. She had been housesitting for Keith and Beth Callahan. Keith attended the University of Arizona for a two-week study course in constructive engineering. While there they visited Sedona, Ariz., and the Grand Canyon.

Tori Akers of Talbot, Ind., and Barbara Banks of Cowan, had a baby shower at the Little Cowan Primitive Baptist Church for Clayton and Katie Banks. They received many nice gifts and the food was delicious. Thanks to all for attending.

Jill Kent and Cara Eskers visited with Renee Stevenson and family in Columbus, Oh. They all attended the Renaissance Festival. We’re sure they had a wonderful time. Cousins always do.

Mackenzi Callahan, Linda Lucas’s granddaughter, a Davie County High School cheerleader, recently made Davie County High’s competition squad. Congratulations, Kenzi.

Katie Callahan, scorekeeper for the North Carolina Softball League, traveled to Orlando, Fla., for a tournament. While there, they visited Disney World.

Late happy birthday wishes to Donnie Adams in Florida, whose birthday was Sept. 23. His family all missed being with him, but they all called him.

Patsy Adams’s daughter, Angel, and grandchildren, Brittany and Jackson, took her to Johnson City for the weekend to celebrate her birthday, which was on Saturday, Sept. 25. They feasted at the Outback Steakhouse, and had a relaxing, enjoyable weekend.

They also went to Chuckie Cheese’s for a preliminary celebration of Jackson’s birthday, which will be on Oct. 5.
