Graveside service were to be held today (Wednesday) for a 67-year-old Eolia woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Virginia last week.
Lois Faye Brock died July 9 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Pound, Va.
Virginia State Police say a 1961 Austin Healey operated by Mrs. Brock’s husband, Henderson Brock, was crossing the southbound lanes of Route 23 in Pound and pulled into the path of a southbound 1991 Mercury Villager. The two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes.
State police were called to the scene at 11:42 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 23 and 671.
Mrs. Brock died at the scene. Mr. Brock was flown to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tenn., for treatment of critical injuries.
Farley Dutton, 68, of Clintwood, Va., the driver of the Mercury Villager, and Fred Mullins of Clintwood, Va., a passenger in the Mercury Villager, were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police Sr. Trooper J.T. Funk. Charges are pending.
Mrs. Brock enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed playing card games such as Canasta and Phase 10.
A daughter of the late Dallas and Mary Rutherford Adams, she was a sister of the late Loretta Hall, Mary Lynn Stephens, Dallas Adams Jr., Charles Lester Adams, Bobby Joe Adams, Ronnie Adams and Dewey Adams.
Surviving are two sons, Curtis Brock and wife Dena of Eolia, and Ronnie Brock and wife Sonya of Pound, Va.; five grandchildren, Chase Brock, Drake Brock, Curtis Allen Brock, Brandon Brock and Cory Brock; four great-grandchildren, Landon Brock, McKenzie Brock, Blake Hall and Danielle Hall; three sisters, Phyllis Eldridge and husband Bobby, and Janet Boggs and husband Richard, all of Eolia, and Karen Stipes and husband Jimmy of Coeburn, Va.; and three brothers, James Adams and wife Mary, Tom Adams and wife Jean, and Roy Lee Adams and wife Betty, all of Eolia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Pound, Va. Graveside services were to be held at noon Wednesday at Mullins Cemetery on Roberts Branch in Eolia.
