Burlin Cantrell, 85, died Sept. 14 at his home in Pound, Va.
A son of the late Johnny ‘Cub’ and Etta Mae Cantrell, he was the widower of Lois Cantrell. After her death he married Eletta Cantrell, who survives him. He was a brother of the late Christine Mullins, Gleda Kelly, Glessie Wolford, Anna Faye Mullins, Ruby Jane Mullins, Buddy Cantrell, Jimmy Cantrell, Dod Cantrell, Glenn Cantrell and Frank Cantrell.
He attended Hamilton Chapel Church and delivered meals for the Pound Presbyterian Church. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 20 years, and was a member of the Pound VFW Post 9600 and participated in 2,000 military services; a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree member of the Pound Masonic Lodge #59 AF&AM; a member of Eastern Star, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans; an honorary Kentucky Colonel; and an honorary member of the Korean Veterans.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a stepson, Johnny Steele; a stepgranddaughter, Leanna Steele; two sisters, Linda Gail Mullins and Mary Ellen Mullins, both of Pound, Va.; and nephews, Doug Strouth and Teddy Wolford.
Funeral services were held Sept. 16. Burial was in the Meade Cemetery in Pound, Va.
