Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing well.
I have been keeping busy and can’t see what I’ve done. Does that happen to any of you?
I heard Bro. Conard Profitt had a birthday on Aug. 14. I saw him the other day and he didn’t look any older. I hope he had a happy birthday.
I really enjoyed the canning class at Cowan Community Center on Thursday evening. It was my first time but I hope to go back again. I appreciate my daughter-inlaw Sandra Hatton and her sister Ernestine Franks taking me. I don’t like to drive much after dark. It was nice seeing everyone. I didn’t know everyone.
It was good seeing my granddaughter Angie Mullins and her daughter Ellie. I don’t get to see them as often as I’d like.
It was good seeing Tammy and Rodney Allen and all the rest especially Valerie Horn. I didn’t know she is Carol Ann and Kendall Ison’s daughter. They are longtime friends of mine, good friends!, and she is just as nice as them. I hope I see more of her.
I hope I can go back up there next week. I made 12 jars of pickles and they look real good. I loved it. I sure enjoyed seeing everyone. I hadn’t seen a lot of them in long time and couldn’t remember all their names.
My son Rob is enjoying his son and his family. His son, Dr. Kevin Hatton, is having his 20-year school reunion. Am I old enough to have a grandson that age? I must be. I have some older than him.
My son Billy and wife Sandra and I had breakfast at Dairy Queen the other day. It was as good as Kevin Day at the radio station says it is. We saw Johnny Caudill and Lee Boggs and lots of other people. We will be going back. I had been seeing their food when I went to Bible study there. It was good seeing Glennis and Charlie Little and all the other folks there.
My four sons are getting ready to go to the Bristol races. They look forward to it .
My sister Louise Shepherd seems to be doing better. We’ve been spending time with her.
I had a nice visit on Saturday with my two brothers, Jack Howard and Charles Howard, at Howard’s Carpet Store. It’s a good place to visit and see the people who come in and we always get a cup of coffee.
My brothers Hubert Howard and John Howard and their cousin Jim Caplinger of Dayton, Ohio, have gone to a golf tournament in Tennessee. I’m sure they will have a good time. They love getting together.
All you Hattons, get ready for the Hatton reunion on Aug. 23 at Cowan Community Center. I look forward to seeing all of you and also all the good food. I love to eat!
I’ve been enjoying this nice weather . It feels like fall weather but I hope it’s not coming too soon. I always dread the snow and icy roads, but the winter is beautiful also.
I haven’t had a chance to see many people this week and didn’t get much news. I hope next week will be better. I don’t like to be boring.
Everyone says they love the old pictures I put in and are making scrapbooks of them. Send me some of yours and I’ll be glad to put them in for you.
May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere this week if you are able.
Elzie Ray Hatton, did you get your birthday card on time this year? I sent it in early. I hope you had a happy birthday and I hope you make it to the Hatton reunion.
