Cantrell rites held




William Randy Cantrell, 54, died August 5 at his home at Neon.

A son of Bessie Cantrell of Neon and the late Woodrow Cantrell, he was a brother of the late Margaret Ann Kincer, Mabel Delores Kincer, Audrey Jean Franklin, Robert Larry Cantrell and Ernie Cantrell.

He was a former manager of Heritage Chair in Whitesburg and taught in a vocational school in Florida. He was an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Neon Lions Club, the American Legion, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and Neon Football Boosters, and was a former Little League President.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Lahoma Case Cantrell; two daughters, Shannon Horton, Columbus, Oh., and Shaunna Everly, Richmond; a son, Eric Scott Cantrell, Neon; two sisters, Brenda Bevins, Jenkins, and Betty York, Pineville; a brother, Harold ‘Lucky’ Cantrell, Neon; and four grandchildren, Kenadee, Christian, Emily, and Paige.

Funeral services were held August 9 at Carty Funeral Home in Neon.
