Carlos Cornett hospitalized in Lexington

Carlos Cornett of Blackey has been in a hospital in Lexington. He had to have surgery after he had an aneurysm burst in his head. He is still not doing too well and will have a long recovery. Hopefully he will come home soon.

Happy birthday to Aubrey Patterson of Whitesburg. She turned 1 on July 22. She is the daughter of Mallory Eldridge and Jamy Patterson. Her grandparents are Mike and Karen Eldridge of Elk Creek and Ike and Kaye Patterson of Whitesburg.

Tara Couch of Linefork has been in the hospital with a very bad kidney infection. She was having a lot of pain her mom said. They found out she had kidney stones and they were causing her problems with her blood sugar level and her blood pressure so she was put in ICU. I wish her the best.

Beau Shelly and Chloe Smith of Letcher and Sydney Back went to Myrtle Beach on Sunday of week before last and came back on Wednesday. They also meet up with Beau’s sister Sara Eldridge of Elk Creek and her family, James, Sophie and Ellie. They got to see white tigers which I’m sure were beautiful. They had a good trip.

Some of my family left out for Myrtle Beach on Saturday. Duke, Debbie and Gary Fugate, Amber Combs, B.J., Shanna, Miss Em and Gavin Adams, all of Carcassone, went. They were planning on staying four days.

My parents had a visit from a man and his wife who found my dad on the Internet. He was in the army with my dad in Austria and Germany. Leroy Grisly and his wife Pat of Arizona and granddaughter Amanda, who is from Florida, came in their RV and spent one night. They were on their way to visit their son in South Carolina. They came here and visited with me. It was nice to finally meet Leroy because he and I have been talking a lot on the computer. It had been about 53 years since he and my dad had seen each other.

Happy anniversary to David and Opal Jent of Carcassonne. It was their 26th on July 17.
