Casper Sexton celebrates Valentine’s Day

Big Cowan

I hope everyone had a great week and a happy Valentine’s Day. I want to wish Leroy Fields of Premium a happy birthday on Feb. 17. I hope you have a good one.

I want to wish a late happy birthday to Casper Sexton of Knott County, who turned 54 on Valentine’s Day. Lots of love from your niece Melinda Daniel.

Congratulations to Herb and Linda Fields on their new granddaughter, Ariebella Jade Fields. Her parents are Brian and Sharon Fields. She has two brothers, Allister and Josiah, and an aunt, Shonea Fields, who are all spoiling her rotten.

Terry Fields Jr. and Jessica of Cowan, have a new baby girl. Aiden Jaylynn Nichole Fields dropped out of heaven on Feb. 3. She weighed 5 pounds, 9 ounces and was 18 inches long. Her grandparents are Terry and Marcella Fields of Cowan, and Melinda Bailey of Isom.

Mother and daughter are doing fine, and so is the proud daddy. Congratulations to all. I’m sure she will brighten up your life and those around her. Babies are so precious.

I also want to wish Debbie Eldridge a happy birthday on Feb. 28. Have a good one, Deb!

Our church had a meatloaf dinner on Friday, Feb. 12, with the proceeds going to the church. We had several orders.

May God bless all of you who ordered dinners or stopped by the church. God has really blessed that little church. We are a church with a vision, and it seems like each service gets better whether there is a large crowd or just a few.

God is in every service, and that’s the most important thing. We enjoy fellowship with one another. We only had to miss a few services because of the weather, but we have to take the bad with the good.

I hope we don’t get the snow that’s predicted. We have had enough. How do you all feel?

We went to Pine Mountain Grill for Valentine’s Day and it was really crowded. People were lined up to the door, but when we got settled and went to the buffet room there were about 20 tables empty. It looks like they would let people go back there. One couple waited a long time and fi- nally left.

Most places that have a buff et room open up the back door and let those who want the buff et to go on back, and have a cash register there, as well. That leaves the front open for people who order from the menu.

It makes sense to me. I love eating at the Pine Mountain Grill, I’m just trying to think of a way to make it easier for the customers as well as the restaurant.

In your prayers this week, remember Delmar Fields and Jeff Caudill. I’ve heard they both have cancer. I sure hate to hear that, and you’re both in my prayers.

I remember when I was a teenager and I came down to visit. Delmar and his first wife, Yvonne, took me and Kendall (I was dating at the time) under their wings. I always thought the world of them. Hang in there!

I saw Geraldine Maggard’s son, Wayne, the other day. I hadn’t seen him in years.

Well, I am signing off until next week.

Keep someone in your prayers, be good to each other, and attend the church of your choice.

Thought for the week: ‘Don’t wait for a hearse to take you to church.’

Pray for the lost!

My granddaughters from Indiana called to wish their papa a happy birthday and a late happy Valentine’s Day.
