Caudill descendants meet for reunion

This is from Shirley June Whitaker:

“June 26, 27 and 28, the descendants of Silas and Martha Fields Caudill met at Jenny Wiley State Park near Prestonsburg. This was the 27th annual reunion we’ve had and I’m sure my grandparents would be pleased to know that we are getting together each year, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

“We had 50 people in attendance: Herman and Essie’s children, Mary Grace and Arlie Howard of Delaware, Oh.; Bob and Polly Caudill of Seymour, Tenn., and daughters Jessica and Kate, and her son Andrew and friends Kim and Evan; David Caudill and his friend, Julie of Atlanta, Ga.; Hargis and Dan’s children, Bobby Caudill of Round Rock, Tex., and Patricia and Jackie Pigman of Somerset;

“Tina and Neldon Whitaker’s children and grandchildren, Shirley June Whitaker of Roxana, Phyllis Whitaker Gibson of Washington, Kim and Bob Haas and son Jacob, daughter, Sarah of Batavia, Oh.; Ida and Doug Sellars and daughters Paige and Lily of Springboro, Oh.; Tammy Sue Zappin and daughter Madison of Chandler, Ariz.; Dove and Mart Ritchie’s daughter, Sandra Gail Collins of Flemingburg; Mary and Eugene Shepherd of Partridge; Lee and Rudell Caudill of Lexington, son Leon and Karyl Caudill of Nashville, Tenn., and their sons Tony and Kathy Caudill and Nathan and Ellie, of Nashville, Tenn.; Andrew Caudill and finance Shawna and daughters Emily, Meredith and Allison, and friend Maggie Lilac of Pittsburgh, Penn., daughter Denise and Jackie York and sons Zachary and Taylor and daughter Kelsey, and her daughter Kaymaya and son Darrin of Norfolk, Va.

“We were sorry that several of the family who usually attend were unable to do so because of illness: Herbert and Charlene Caudill of Hamilton, Oh., Jim T. and Thelma Caudill and daughter Suzie and Dale Stanton of Hamilton, Oh., Jim and Linda Whitaker of Del Ray Beach, Fla., and Ava and Don Blair of Williamsburg, Oh., Juanita Bledsoe of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Jeff Shepherd of Charlestown, Ind.

“Tuesday night we reminisced about growing up on Mill Fork at Mama and Pa’s. Bobby told us he wanted us to remember the heritage they passed to us as deacons in the Regular Baptist Church.

“Several told of things we remembered doing on Mill Fork. We talked and played games and had a great time together.

“We all parted on Sunday morning after breakfast, and hope to meet again next year at Cumberland Lake State Park at Jamestown.”
