Cavs fall to Harlan

The Jenkins defense was strong, but not enough to stop the Harlan Green Dragons on the road.

In the Cavaliers’ penultimate regular season game, two Jenkins defensemen had doubledigit tackles, but the effort was not enough against Harlan. The Green Dragons downed the Cavaliers 56-22 in the game.

Mountain Eagle contributing writer Sarah Tackett Brown said senior Cole Brown led the way defensively, accumulating 17 tackles in the game. Cole Brown’s teammate, sophomore Audie Fields, chipped in 11 tackles.

Sarah Tackett Brown said Jenkins quarterback Randy Potter was named Player of the Game, finishing with three touchdowns and 287 yards passing. Teammate Cody Wright had six reception in the game for a total of 164 yards, Brown said.

Jenkins will wrap up their regular season schedule this week on the road at Betsy Layne in Floyd County before likely hitting the road for the opening round of post season play.
