Cavs to open with three road games




Coach Matt Fleming’s Jenkins Cavaliers will open their 2016 football season on the road this Friday night at McCreary Central High School.

The Cavailers look to be more experienced this year, as their 25-man roster is made up of 13 seniors.

After Friday’s tilt in McCreary County, Jenkins will visit Ridgeview, Va., on August 26 and Allen Central on September 9. The Green and White will finally play at home when Lynn Camp visits on September 16. Hazard (September 23) and Phelps (September 30) will also visit Jenkins, but the Cavaliers then go on the road to South Floyd, Clinton County, Pikeville and Pineville for their final four regular-season games.

Seniors on the team are Brady Addington, Nate Bates, Scotty Church, Josh Delph, Audie Fields, Austin Fields, Tyler Gibson, Zackary Isaac, Matthew Jessey, Davey Keel, Tyler Laughary, Justin Phipps, and Darian Slone.

Junior class team members are Sam Bentley and Andrew Watts.

Sophomores are Jordan Bates, Lance Bentley, Lyric Day, Gavin Fields, Shawn Laughery, and Dakota Trotter.

Freshmen who made the team are Hayden Fleming, Gabriel Polly, Louie Thacker, and Josh Yonts.
