Cecil O’Neil Ison, 73, dies in Indiana



Cecil O’Neil Ison, 73, died May 17, in Dupont, Ind.

Born at Linefork, he was the son of the late Cecil and Mae Huff Ison, and a brother of the late Louise Wager, Lillian Ison, Christina Ison and Ernestine Ison.

He served in the U.S. Army, and in the Indiana National Guard for six years.

Ison was retired as a machinist with Cummins Engine Company, enjoyed hunting, fishing, University of Kentucky basketball, and coached baseball and softball for 18 years. He attended the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and was a member of the Dupont High School Alumni Association.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Elizabeth Goebel Ison of Dupont, Ind.; two sons, Dennis Ison and wife Paula of Zionsville, Ind., and Derreck Ison of Dupont, Ind.; a daughter: Deanna Ronk and husband Ron of Sullivan, Ind.; two grandchildren, Jared Ison and Suellen Ronk; two sisters, Odessa Brooks of Columbus, Ind., and Pauline Patterson and husband Lendol of North Vernon, Ind.; and nephews and nieces, Wayne Brooks and wife Debbie, Jeff rey Wager and wife Beth, Darrell Patterson and wife Sharyn, Dwight Patterson and wife Marissa, and Kim Polley and husband Tim.

Funeral services will be held May 2, in Madison, Ind. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery.
