The Sonshine Children’s Center will have a public celebration of its 30th year beginning Friday at 5 p.m., and continuing on Saturday and Sunday.
Mary Bennett said she has taken in more than 100 children, many with disabilities, since she founded the home in 1989.
The events begin with dinner and gospel music at 5 p.m. Friday, and will end about 9 p.m.
Events will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and will include breakfast, lunch and dinner, gospel music and inflatables for kids. It will end about 9 p.m.
Sunday will also begin at 8 a.m. with breakfast, and include singing in the church.
The Sonshine Children’s Center is a large log home at 18754 Hwy 160, Linefork. The events are free and open to the public.
