Hello out there to everyone who reads my news in The Mountain
I’m glad you do, and that you tell me you enjoy what Ermine Senior Citizens are doing. We do have a great time at our center.
I saw Jo Champion from Thornton at Food World, and she said that she reads my news every week. Thanks, Jo, it was nice talking to you.
We had Bob Lewis at our center to go with one of our drives on a home visit.
Dorothy York is in Whitesburg Hospital. Dorothy is one of our good quilters, and she is very sick. I hope you get better, Dorothy, and get to come back to be with us.
Rhuford Hart was in a funeral at Everidge Funeral Home, so he and wife, Coleen, had to leave early.
Last Wednesday we had a wonderful time as we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. We had a house full and didn’t hardly have room to put them. We had several visitors, our Sheriff Danny Webb, Judge Jim Ward, Jamie Hatton, and probably others though I didn’t get their names.
We all wore green derby hats and necklaces that Jim Craft brought for us. Jim, we really appreciate you. You do a great job at our center, and you know we all love you even if you do pull jokes on me (I can’t get ahead of him).
Richard and Pauline Adams were crowned Mr. and Mrs. Leprechaun, and each won a beautiful gift. We had shamrock stickers, one was the winner, and who else also won but John Duty! He sure is lucky. The prize was $10.
Community Trust Bank brought us a cake that read, “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” on it. It was beautiful, and really good too. Three of the ladies from the bank came to be with us and brought us cards and grocery list pads. Thanks Teresa, Anita and Sheila. We were glad to you and want you to come back and see us.
All the ladies and gents dressed in their greens. I told them that if they didn’t wear green they would pay a fine. Everyone had on green, so I didn’t collect any money from them.
We had all kinds of good food and desserts. After dinner I received a phone call from our State Representative, Leslie Combs, to wish us a happy St. Patrick’s Day. She was sorry she couldn’t be with us, but would come to see us soon.
The 4-H clubs were there with her from Letcher County, and she said they were dressed in their greens also. She is a very nice lady, and I really enjoyed talking to her.
We didn’t do much the next day as we were tuckered out from the party (we all probably ate too much).
Vina Lucas had her family from Lexington to visit her and Steve.
Friday we just talked, visited and discussed the ball game. Friday, March 26, we will be going to Kingscreek for ‘March Madness.’ We are looking for a great time there.
We always enjoy going to Kingscreek, as Kathy is a good hostess and so friendly and nice to us all. I hope to see all you senior citizens there.
So God bless until next time.
