The Cowan Community Center will host a meeting on Thursday, August 7, to discuss developing a story-play based on life as it now is in Letcher County and to also weave in stories from the area’s past history.
The meeting will be held in the Letcher County Extension Office beginning at noon and ending at 2:30 p.m. A light lunch will be served.
The effort will be assisted by Mark Kidd and Bob Martin, who are experienced in community theater work and who have been secured to work with the group in their efforts. The work is made possible through a grant from the Brushy Fork Institute and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
Anyone interested in helping develop the idea of a community theater program in Letcher County is welcome to attend and share ideas, ask questions, and become a part of this endeavor. For more information or to reserve a lunch, call Carol Ison at 606-633-9831 by August 4.
