Charles Benjaman Addington, 77, died October 28 at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Tennessee.
Born in Whitesburg to the late Lundy and Leona Webb Addington, he was the widower of Betty Hall Addington.
He was the father of the late Regina Kay Addington and a brother of the late James Ellis Addington, Irene Christian, Wanda Adkins and Ruhford Hart.
Mr. Addington was a deacon in the Primitive Baptist Church. He was a talented mechanic and was part owner of St. Matthews Imports in Louisville for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed tinkering on motors of any size.
He is survived by his three children, Charles Jeffrey and wife, Mary of Eminence, Philip Reed and wife Caroll of Castlewood, Va., and Kristina Jo and husband, Jeff Hennis of Louisville; eight grandchildren, Charles Jeffrey, II, Justin Kyle, Ethan Philip, Samantha Kay, Nicholas James, Andrew Nathaniel, Patrick Wendell, and Jennifer Alane; six great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Lydia, Boston, Fletcher, Memphis, and Raleigh; and a sister, Vonda Bachanan and husband, Paul.
Memorial services for Mr. Addington were held November 6 at Clintwood Primitive Baptist Church in Virginia.
