Charlie Hatton, 81, succumbed




Funeral services for Charlie Hatton, 81, will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday), January 23, at Everidge Funeral Home in Whitesburg. Burial will follow in the Whitco Cemetery.

A son of the late Jesse and Pearlie Bailey Hatton, he died January 20 at the Greg & Noreen Hospice Center in Hazard.

The widower of Aggie Lou Niece Hatton, he was a grandfather of the late Jessica Coots, and a brother of the late Marvin Hatton, Elbert Hatton, Herbie Hatton, Troy Kelly Hatton, Tressie Banks, Myrtle Thomas and Bessie Niece.

He was retired from coal mining, and was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Whitco Pentecostal Church and the Whitesburg VFW Post #5829.

Surviving are four daughters, Delana Caudill, Whitco, Carolyn Coots and husband Calvin, Viper, and Sabrina Hatton and Brooke Hatton, both of Whitesburg; three sons, Roger Hatton and wife Ida, and Denny Ray Hatton, all of Whitco, and Charles Hatton and wife Effie, of Letcher; 12 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and a greatgreat grandchild.
