Charlie Wayne Lucas, of Thornton, died January 29 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was 70 years old.
Born at Thornton, he was a son of the late David and June Victoria Blanton Lucas. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Judy Ann and Glenna Sue.
He was a member of Cram Creek Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Lucas; five sons, Jeffrey Wayne Lucas and David Lloyd Lucas and wife Brandy, all of Whitesburg, Gary Lynn Lucas and wife Vel of Jasper, Ala., Charles Brian Lucas and wife Angie of Mayking, and Bruce Stamper of Thornton; three daughters, Donna Louise Banks and husband Mike, and Mary Rhonda Nichols and husband John, all of Mayking, and Sandy Jean McCall and husband Alan of Abingdon, Va.; two brothers, Donald Ray Lucas of Campbranch, and David Eugene Lucas of Thornton; four sisters, Ann Adams of Thornton, Linda Lois McFall of Mayking, Audrey Faye Lucas of Pine Creek, and Carolyn Wynn of Jenkins; 21 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held February 2 at Cram Creek Pentecostal Church. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery at Ermine.
