Child among 3 organizing toy and clothing drives here

Three different individuals are organizing blanket and toy drives in Letcher County.

Four-year-old Chloe Wright is collecting new toys, stuffed animals, games, gift cards and coats for the less fortunate children of Letcher County. Chloe, the daughter of Mark and Ellena Wright, of Jenkins, is also collecting new Bibles to be donated to the Kentucky Kids Bible Mission. Hats, gloves and scarves in adult sizes will be given to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center in Louisville. Take donations to Kentucky Farm Bureau 4246 Highway 15, Whitesburg.

Courtney Desiraye Jackson, a Letcher County Central High School senior, is organizing a blanket drive to benefit Hospice of the Bluegrass. Throws and blankets collected in November will be donated to Hospice inhouse patients and those out in the community. Drop off blankets at The Mountain

Eagle office, located at 41 North Webb St., Whitesburg.

Doris Banks is collecting throws for the residents at Letcher Manor Nursing Home in Whitesburg and Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard. Take throws to Banks at the Food City floral department.
