Hello everyone, hope you are all doing well.

Wow! This has been a busy week. I don’t know how I got through it.

I went to the funeral of Lola Jean Napier, the daughter of the late Barbara and Ervin “Peanut” Napier, who were Marlowe people a long time ago. It was good seeing Margaret (Hatton) Combs there and also Charlene Adams. I knew her since she was a baby and I also saw her son Mark Adams. He said he never got to know his grandfather Peanut, and he asked me about him. I told him how he loved to talk and joke with his friends.

We had a real good singing at our church and also our Christmas dinner. Two men were saved at our meeting and one of them came to church the next night and brought two of his brothers with him. I don’t know their names, but I’ll learn them. They were real friendly. Our church is doing good.

Also, I went to the funeral of Geneva Sharpe, who lived in Whitco for a long time. We were good friends. Her son Jerry and my son Rob went to high school together and also to Alice Lloyd College. We parents took turns driving them there.

I was glad to see him and all the people there that I hadn’t seen in many years. A lot of the Whitco people were there, Alberta and Jerry Barker, Fleta Mae Brown, Glen Brown, Roger Ison and Jr. Ray Ison. My cousin Bro. Cecil Howard was the minister there who took care of the services.

I better stop naming names. I hadn’t seen some of them in over 50 years and we have all changed and we couldn’t remember each other’s names, but I’m always glad to see everyone.

Dorthy Tacket wanted me to say hello to Rose Ballard. Hello from me also.

We enjoyed our Bible study Wednesday at Dairy Queen. We had 14 people there. I enjoy seeing all of them and look forward to it.

I had saved all the cards I got after my husband Clyde’s funeral and I got all of them and read them again. I was so touched. There were so many of them I didn’t know. They said they felt like they knew me from The Mountain Eagle. I really appreciated all of them.

Our Howard family Christmas is Dec. 20 at Cowan Community Center. That’s tomorrow night. I’ve been trying to get ready for it and also am looking forward to having my son Rob here. His birthday is Dec. 24. I have been worried that the weather is going to get bad and he couldn’t get to come. He has a long drive.

My son Astor “ Red” won’t get to come. He’s having relatives coming to his house. He loves company and I know they will enjoy themselves.

I went to our church play last night. It was better than good. Those little children outdid themselves! We have some good ladies that work with our children, Greta and Rachel Fields, Juda Niece, Annie O’Rourk and I don’t know who all. I’ll find out and brag on them all.

The three- and fouryear old kids did their parts and never missed a word. They looked so beautiful and the decorations were pretty, especially the stove with the flames. I’d love to have one like it. We had a houseful of people and a large crowd of our little actors. I think every child we had was in it. Everyone loved it.

I’m looking forward to our Howard family Christmas party tonight, glad the weather is good. This has been a busy week for us. I’ll tell you about the party in next week’s news.

We still have a lot of folks who need prayer, especially Sis. Hazel Hart and Sis. Shirley Niece.

I’m enjoying getting Christmas cards from all of you. I watch for the mailman. Stamps have gotten so expensive we don’t get as many, but I have gotten a lot myself.

My son Rob called and he is on his way home. I’m looking forward to seeing him.

May God bless all of you. Try to be in church somewhere if you are able.
