My sympathy to the family of Bruce Gilley Sr. of Doty Creek. He died on March 8 at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital. Bruce was 80 and had been in the hospital and sick for awhile.
It was also the fourth wedding anniversary of his grandson and his wife, Shawn and Erica Gilley of Lynch. So sorry for their loss .
Virgil Combs had to be taken back to the hospital. He had a rough few days and was not doing well, but now he is home again and doing a lot better.

Vernon ‘Jr.’ Slone of Jeremiah is in the hospital. He had a tumor removed from his hip and was in ICU but he is doing better. I wish him the best.
Junior Pineyard of Jeremiah has been passing out and had to be taken to the ER. They sent him to have tests and they are thinking it’s his heart. I hope he gets good news and feels better soon.
Marquitta Walters of Blackey was in a wreck on Thursday on Pine Mountain. Thankfully she was not hurt and the car had some damage but nothing major. She takes some college classes in Cumberland.
Happy birthday to Christian Miller of Blackey. He turned 4 on March 4. He is the son of McKenzie and Beck Miller and the grandson of Billie Miller and Phillip and Carrie Kincaid.
Doyle Johnson of Jeremiah had to be taken to Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital on Friday morning when he was found unresponsive. His sugar had dropped to low and he has pneumonia. He hates so bad being in the hospital so I hope he can come home soon.
Prayers out to the family of Billy Dean Brashears. He is on life support and it was not looking good as of Saturday. He lives in northern Kentucky and is formerly of Blackey. I saw his son James Dean a few years back but I haven’t talked to Billy Dean in years. I wish them all the best.
