Friday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m., we will be having Christmas on the Hill at the Old Indian Bottom Church building at the Frog Pond at Blackey, on Highway 7 South. The church sign is beside the road and is well marked.
Twenty years ago Ron Short and friends from Appalshop’s WMMT came to the old church building to put on a Christmas program and they haven’t missed a year since. Everyone in our community looks forward to this program.
The old building is one of the oldest church buildings in Letcher County, and it is such a special place.
So if you want to have an old-time, fun-filled Christmas program, come on down to the Old Indian Bottom Church building at the Frog Pond in Blackey on Dec. 11 at 6:30. Bring finger food to share and your drinks.
But come and enjoy the Christmas program. I can assure you that you will be glad you came and you will leave feeling better than you came.
We want to thanks Jim and Russell Whitaker for the use of the church building. They have singing and a potluck there the first Tuesday of each month.
For more information on the program, call Doris Adams, 606-634-2530.
