Christmas potluck planned at Fleming-Neon




Fleming-Neon Senior Citizens Center news

Our center is having a canned food drive and a coat drive for seniors who are in need. Donations of canned goods and/or coats may be dropped off at the center during our regular hours of operation (listed below).

Dec. 22: Christmas potluck.

Please continue to pray for our county leadership and county finances.

We have been told we have perhaps a few more days to continue this program to serve our seniors. We are told the last working day may be Dec. 23. May God please help us all.

Regular Bingo: Fridays at 10:30.

Rook and checkers played daily.

Exercise equipment available daily.

The Fleming-Neon Senior Center is open from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on weekdays. Lunch is served from 11 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. For more information, call (606) 855- 7567.

Getting Started Workshop/ Beginners Jam on Wednesday, Dec. 16, will be cancelled.

Friday Nite Pickin,’ Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Cross Country Bluegrass will return with their mix of bluegrass and country. They will please anyone who likes the old jukebox favorites as well as two stepping and flatfooting favorites. We never tire of the listening fare they dish out in heaping helpings. Come on out and have a great time with us! Dancing while singing aloud is encouraged!

Dec. 25, Christmas Day featuring Dawson Creek’s return. Yay!

Thursday, Dec. 31, from 9 p.m.-12 midnight, a New Year’s Eve party featuring Highway 23 and our own Gina Seals-Sparks. This is a really great band playing a broad spectrum of genres. You will be greatly pleased at spending your holiday with us. $10 admission with food and drinks included. Party foods, punch, drinks, and coffee! No free door prize passes will be accepted this night. Kids’ admission, 5 and under free, ages 6-12 $3, 13 and over $5, to cover food and drink. Bring your family and come and join us.

Friday, Jan. 1: New Year’s Day with Will Caudill and RT 7.

Jan. 8: The Country Troubadours.

Friday Nite Pickin,’ children get in free when accompanied by an adult.

Open mic at intermission. Target audience country, folk, bluegrass, and Americana. Family friendly environment.

Inclement weather, check our Facebook page two hours before any scheduled event. Any updates will be posted by then. If main roads and our parking area are clear we usually have events as posted.
