The Letcher County Tourism Commission will hold the second debut of the Christmas Storybook Stroll & Shop on Friday, Dec. 22, and Saturday, Dec. 23.
The event is sponsored by eight locally-owned, small businesses in hopes to encourage those who live in Letcher County and surrounding counties to shop local this holiday season.
Residents are invited to take a drive with their family and stroll through participating stores as they showcase the storybook “Snowmen at Christmas”. Beginning at Deana’s Designs, located in Dry Fork Plaza, follow the pages displayed inside each store until reaching the end of the book at Pine Mountain Grill & Gifts, located off of Highway 119 South.
Participating children will be given the opportunity to gather pieces to a free, special snowman necklace while supplies last. Each store will have a different piece, so once children have visited every store they will have a complete necklace to wear all season long.
“We are excited to partner with local businesses to bring a Christmas Storybook Stroll and Shop to our community,” said Missy Matthews, chairman of the Letcher County Tourism Commission. “We hope that this event will be enjoyed by the whole family, as they make their way through the story, visit with local business owners and experience the Christmas specials they have to offer.”
The following list of stores is placed in the order participants must visit, to read the storybook from start to finish: Deana’s Designs, Kentucky Mist Moonshine
Distillery, Simple Things Boutique, Dawahare 109, Annie’s Frugal Finery, Southern Bliss, Pine Mountain Outfitters and Pine Mountain Grill & Gifts.
