Church members build a ramp for Phyllis Whitaker

Jeremiah

Just a quick little column this week since I’m writing at the last minute.

Congratulations to Aaron and Becky Blair of Burton Hill who have a brand new baby. The little one was a few weeks early and only weighed a little over four pounds. Mother and baby are doing well and I hear that Grandpa Tim was showing pictures of the little one at the Little Dove Church on Sunday.

The Bea and Mattie Whitaker family had their reunion over the weekend. They met on Saturday in Lincoln County and while there, it came a terrible storm with wind and rain, which was a little scary for a while. Ellis, Ila, Tammy, Jerry, Bonita, Scott and Lisa Adams and Liberty and Noah Campbell went from here.

We hope Mildred Adams of Adams Branch is doing better since suffering a stroke last week. Also, Danny Blair is having a rough go of it lately. His family is keeping a close watch on him during his health problems.

Phyllis Whitaker is back home on Adams Branch after recently being in the rehab unit at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital. Some members of Jeremiah Missionary Baptist Church built a ramp to help her get into her home easier. Her Sunday school class sat with her Sunday so her sister, Ruth, could go to church.

Jean Hampton took her neighbor, Dennis Blair, to the emergency room Saturday morning after he fell and hurt his hand. He came back home with a bandage on it but wasn’t hurt badly.

Don’t forget about the Bible school coming up on the 17th, 18th and 19th at the Blackey Missionary Baptist Church. It will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 9:30 to 12:00 on Saturday morning.

Also on the sick list are Courtney Adams, Buddy Roe, Sue Caudill, Alamander Blair and Lowell Caudill. Also sorry to hear that Jack Caudill, who lives in Texas, the son of the late Rex and Laura Caudill, has not been feeling well lately as well as the daughter-in-law of Sterlin and Mertie Caudill.

This weekend will be church time at the Blair Branch Church and everyone is welcome to come.
